The Lab

D landed in the darkened lab holding Rose. The scientists were all asleep. He wrapped his wings around them both before he called them. They awoke at once and came over immeadietly, half-scared.
Heal this girl. D abruptly commanded. You have probably just around three hours before the black flame notice that Rose is not in our hideout. He set Rose on a chair gently, and the scientists nodded, unable to see him round his wings.

Rose sat in the chair unable to move with shock. "What are you going to do?" she asked scared.

Don't worry. D assured her. It'll be over soon, and you'll be fine.
The scientists fetched a large metal machine.

Rose struggled, not liking the look of the machine, "What's that going to do?" she asked again.

They wheeled the machine next to Rose. It began to make a low humming noise, and the metal shook with elecrticity.
It looks scary, but all you have to do is sit next to it. D laughed at her scared face. It detects poison. The sound waves enter the brain and cause it to trigger advanced messages to the antibody system, resulting in antibody multiplication. he paused, unsure whether Rose had understood. Basically, the sound waves comign from it destroy the poison within around two hours, so all you have to do is sit here and listen to it. he tried simplifying the explaination.

"What?" Rose couldn't understand the words. She struggled but that took most of her remaining energy. Her eyelids were drooping but she tried to resist falling asleep.

It's ok. It's safe to sleep. D reassured her. You'll have to sit there doing nothing for a few hours anyway. I'll stay right here.

Rose eventually fell into a deep sleep - bordering on unconsciousness.

It was three hours later that the scientists turned the noisy machine off.
Is the poison gone? came D's voice.
"All gone." replied the head scientist. "Quite a big wound, though. It'll take a while to heal, though we cleaned in and put a bandage on it. Rose needs rest, at least for another twenty-four hours."

Rose slowly woke up and quickly stood up looking around. She couldn't recall what happened, "What?" she whispered clutching her head and tried the run off before stumbling onto the floor.

D nodded to the scientists.
Go and take your rests. I will take her back now.
They nodded and went back to their dorms. Now alone in the lab, D picked up Rose again.
It's fine. The poison's gone, though you need to rest for twenty-four hours, at least, so your wound can start to heal.

Rose remembered what had just happened. "Thanks - I guess, but they'll still be looking for me" Rose said to D

They're hardly going to have much of a chance if you're sleeping in the hideout. There's so many white flame guards protecting it. he shrugged and flew off out of the window, back towards the hideout.

"I guess" Rose muttered. "But I'm not gonna spend my whole life there, am I?"

They're not going to spend their whole lives looking for you, pointed out D wisely, as they made speed over the mountains.

Liam arrived creeping in through one of the windows. He looked around and smiled and soon found the dormatries, he looked the door so the scientists couldn't get out, then he started looking round.

Liam explored the lab and came to the machine that was used to cure Rose, he soon realised what it was and with a few quick movement of his sword destoryed it, he smiled looking at his handy work.

Liam heard the explosion and smiled, then started waiting for Aoi.

Aoi landed, panting.
"The building's gone," she confirmed.

Liam smiled, "Get ready for the visitors, I'll take D" Liam said to Aoi, "You take the others" He drew his sword and backed into the shadows waiting.

D swooped down and waited for Rose.

Rose flew into the room and hovered as she couldn't stand.

Liam readied his talons looking at D smiling.

D could not be seen behind his wings.
"I know you're here." he suddenly said. "Come out so we can see you. There's no point in hiding now."

Rose looked around scared. "What" she hissed at D.

Liam lept out the shadows diving at D sword raised.
