The Grand Hall

Liam turned round quickly and grabbed the girl by the scruff of the neck. "Who are you?" he whispered threateningly in her ear.

"I'm a human with dog ears," she replied back, talking like Liam was the dumbest person in the world. Rai ripped a patch out of the back of Liam's trousers, which brought forth a few giggles from his owner.
"Anyways, I'm here. Whatcha gonna do about it?" with surprising strength, she flung him off and stood over him, a broad grin on her face.

Liam ran and again grabbed her. He put his sword against her throat and his talons on the square of his back. "What are you doing here?"

"Fine, fine, fine, I'll tell you." there was a pause as Sygnal grinned. "I'm looking for mky dog. She got lost. By the way, nice place you got here. All the hidden passageways you don't want ANYONE else to see and secrets to the black flame. Now I can brag that I've seen 'em!" She nodded to herself. "Anyways, now you've ever so kindly let me in, please put me down so I can find my dog."

Liam didn't budge. "I could kill you right now, why should I let you go?"

Sygnal laughed. "Kill me right now? I hardly think so. It's fifty to one. You're outnumbered."
Rai nodded and barked. Answering barks came from all around the outside of the castle.
"Besides, without me, your team can't buy dogs of war any more. I'm Sygnal, the go-between that trains and raises them, and may I add that I'm the ONLY dog trainer left on the PLANET who trains dogs in special powers and enhanced abilities?" she gave another little laugh.
"Well, anyways, can I find my dog please? That's all I'm here for. Belieeeeeve me."

Liam admitted to defeat. "The idiotic mutt's under table" he hissed. Talons still at her back.

"Idiotic, hmm? She's a dog capable of teleportation, flight and illusion," remarked Sygnal. "Hardly idiotic."
Rai nodded and barked.
"Hey Whiteberry, if you're in here, Sygnal's come to getcha!" Sygnal smiled, peeking under the table. Two blue eyes stared cheekily back at her. Whiteberry emerged from under the table, swishing her two tails. She barked.
"You say you followed a girl called Rose from a strange looking block of flats?" Sygnal shrugged. "Search me if I know her." she told the dog, giving her a pat. "Let's go home, ok? This boy here has a door to fix."
She waved at Liam and winked. "See ya later!" she laughed, before vanishing in a white light due to the power of one of the dogs. Rai and Whiteberry were also gone. The barks from outside died away as they all ran off, back towards the forest.

Liam raised his eyebrows and went over to simply lower the portcullis. "Fixed" he muttered to himself.

A dark shape slipped under the table and started snuffling around.

Aoi returned with a large, triple bladed silver knife. She looked down at it with slight uncertainty, but also with a cold and distant longing.

"You back, Aoi?, I wonder where that girl is?" Liam muttered.
